Spring Finally! Flower Cooking Part I

Dandelion - Dente di leone - Loewenzahn

Finally there are the first signs of spring and the first rays of warm sun!

Spring for me also means starting to cook "with the nature". There are many blossoms and flowers you can eat.
Now it's time for dandelion:

Today I made Dandelion Liquor. Easy to make and delicious! You can feel spring!
Dandelion liquor

Ingredients:
20 g Dandelion flowers (only the yellow part! careful - the green part is bitter!)
200 g caster sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
3/8 l Water
50 ml Schnapps (mixd fruit Schnapps)
120 ml Alcohol, pure, 80%
Recipe:
Mix the yellow part of the flowers with sugar and vanilla sugar and leave to infuse for ca. 1 hour.

Add water and bring to boil. Switch off heat and leave in the covered pot for the night.

Strain through a very fine sieve or a cloth. Add Schnapps and alcohol and fill in a bottle. Enjoy!
